About Louise

I’m a born and raised mountain girl from Banff, Alberta. Yes, I was actually born there. And yes, people actually live in Banff 😉 Despite growing up skiing, hiking and just about every other outdoor activity imaginable, it wasn’t until I left the Rockies that I truly fell in love with them. After finishing my International Business degree and studying abroad in Hong Kong, I rushed back home, planted roots in Calgary and now spend every spare moment back home in the mountains where I belong. Robin and I travel as often as we can, but I never want to take our beautiful backyard for granted again. We spend just as much time exploring the Rockies, because let’s face it: there’s nowhere on Earth quite like it..

About Robin

I grew up near London, England – about as far away from the mountains as you can get. In 2012 I decided to take a Gap Year before starting Med School and chose the most obscure place I’d never heard of: Banff. While out one night, I met Louise and the rest is history 🙂 I did a year of Med School, before switching things up and completing my Masters of International Real Estate. I returned to Canada, got my Permanent Resident status, and am now a full-time travel writer and photographer.

Frequently Asked Questions

1What camera gear do you currently use?
We currently use a Canon 5D Mkiii with a few different lenses. Our main lens is a Tamron 24-70mm, but our favourite is the Sigma 35mm f1.4 ART. For wider landscape shots, we tend to use a wider lens; the Tamron 15-30mm f2.8.
2How do you afford to travel so much?
Louise and I have spent the last few years building different streams of income. We make money through affiliate links, commercial photography, digital influencing, sponsored posts, ambassadorships, real estate, wedding photography and a fully fledged media company that we run while we travel. All of our income sources are devised to allow us to travel and work at the same time. Get in touch if you want to know more!
3What's your favourite country so far?
Canada will always be our favourite and our home, but other favourites include Hong Kong, Indonesia and Scotland. We're very outdoorsy, so we like to visit countries that we can explore with our feet, rather than a vehicle. If you feel the same way, you'll love Canada, you'll love the US and you'll absolutely go mad for Scotland and the Isle of Skye.
4What do you travel with that you can't live without?
It's probably pretty obvious, but I don't go anywhere without my laptop or my camera. Aside from that, a portable charger can be a lifesaver when you're travelling for long periods of time, and an inflatable neck pillow makes a huge difference if you've got a long flight ahead of you.It also goes without saying, that a decent backpack goes a really long way in making your travelling more comfortable, so having a great backpack that you can rely is pretty important to us.
